Tezuka Kunimitsu +//+What makes a smile+\\+ 5

Recap: Apparently you just made your first friend in school just now. Cool eh?

Karin's P.O.V.
***************
Finally I've found someone that does not pick on me at first sight. I just don't understand why people just like to pick on me, I mean, what's wrong with liking to read? I just love reading so much! It's just as he says, why bother about people who want me to change into another person when I'm already someone that I really like for myself. People who want to be friends with me will like me for who I am, and will not want me to change into someone else.

I looked up at Yuna beside me and smiled, one that i had not done in a long time.

All too soon, we'd reached the classroom. I pointed to Yuna my seat and he placed my bag down on the chair. Just as he did that, a book fell out of my bag and onto the floor, open and face down. I recognized it as one of my manuscripts of my latest stories that I wrote. I felt my face flush and bent down to try to grab it.

Too late, Yuna got there first.

"AHH!! don't read it..." I hung my head down, but he didn't reply. When I looked up. he was flipping through the pages really fast, and his navy blue eyes twinkled.

"Wow. This sure is SOME story." I gasped. "I've never been this drawn into a book-any book for that matter- before... You're a GREAT writer! You write as a hobby?" I looked up to see her looking at me intently, face as red as a tomato. I tilted my brow and she, as if just realising it, gave a little gasp and hung her head down.

"Hey. From now on, I NEVER want to see you hanging your head like this EVER again. You've got to be confident of yoursef!" I put my hands on my hips and tried to act angry. She looked up again, and I could have sworn that her face was redder than before. I tried not to laugh...

"Mmff...Bwwhhh... That's better....Knghh." I tried to stiffle my laughter, grinning and half hoping that she wouldn't have noticed. She smiled, and almost instantly the red lessened.

I grinned, just as the bell rang for afternoon lessons. People streamed in and we hastily got into our seats. History class. Great, just one of my favourites.

A tiny, hunched female teacher that looked so old she might have invented the question mark hobbled in and intro-ed herself as Ikuya-sensei and started teaching immediately. Not to mention, I fell asleep within 15minutes of the class. Not at all surprising, half the class was already asleep, like, waay before me. Except *cough*Te*cough*zu*cough*ka*cough*, obviously.

It was almost the end of the lesson when I finally woke up, and I looked up to see the board covered with history stuff. Shit. Missed out so much. Ahh who cares man, history is boring shit anyway.

"Thank you class..." Ikuya-sensei said as she hobbled out of the class. Thankgoodness that was the last class for the day...

I stood up and stretched my tired arms and yawned. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Tezuka stand up-- with his tennis bag slung around his shoulders. Oh. So he plays tennis. Cool.

I shrugged, then another thought hit me: Isn't today the frst day of school? He must really be very hardworking, or obsessed with tennis.

Oh whatever. It's not my business anyway.

Wait, but that also means that perhaps there's a tennis court somewhere in the school? And a tennis team? Cool.

I smiled to myself. Why wouldn't I join then. ;D

Gathering up my things into my bag, I followed Tezuka out, and to the tennis courts, keeping my thoughts on trying to remember the way there.

"HEY!! Tezuka-Bouchu!" Someone shouted out, and Tezuka turned in the direction of the voice. I looked to see another boy-- third year, possibly-- with a weird type of haircut that sort of reminded me of an egg with fringes. O.o'

He's the captain? He must be pretty good then. I left the scence just as Tezuka walked over to the "egghead".

Tezuka Kunimitsu +//+What makes a smile+\\+ 4

Recap: OOOHH so who're you gonna meet during lunch? So let's all remember that you hate people touching your cap yeahh(:
...................................................................................

Your P.O.V.
**************
-Tezuka.

I looked up at the tall silouhette of a guy, annoyed. With a hand on one hip and another angling my cap over an eye, my mouth twitched as I said,"Watch where you're going, person. No one touches the cap."

Tezuka just stood there, stoic and tall looking down at me for 5 wordless seconds before walking off without a word. I wrinkled my nose at his departure, then sat down to finish my lunch. Geez. What a guy..

Suddenly...

PINGPIANNNGGG...!!

I almost choked on my last mouthful.

"Yo bookworm! Watcha doing here eating? Shouldn't you be back in your puny classroom reading that Calculus shit already?" I head a guy's voice overhead.

"Yeah why don't you just go back to your classroom and rot together with all your books then, eh?" Another cruel guy voice appeared, and I heard some gentle sobbing and sniffling.

"Awww.... Thee wittle bookwworm is cwying! Awww howw sadd." Another guy mock-baby-cried out loudly.

This can't be happening... Can it? Not here, at least, and not again... I turned around to see 3 guys surrounding a girl crouched on the floor, head tucked in so all that I could see was her hair falling all around her face, an empty bowl some 5 feet away and three huge books scattered on the floor.

I pushed my chair back violently, but walked over to them casually through the background instead as quite a crowd had formed.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk." I clicked my tongue, a little too loudly, and a few students looked round. I walked to the center where the girl was and squatted down beside one of the books and picked it up, flipping through the pages boredly through half-closed eyes.

"This ain't no way to treat a girl, dude." I stood up and eyed him, arms akimbo, a snigger escaping my lips.

"Who the heck are you and wadda hell'r you doing here?" The guy with orange-golden hair that obviously was the leader, stepped out and considered me.

I took a step up to him and waved a finger in his face.

"Ah, ah, ah. Now you'd better return the poor girl her hairband, and why not apologize at the same time then?" I pointed to behind his back where he was hiding one hand, and then at the girl, who was now looking up at us, her hair parted, static-ed and frizzy, face tear-stained and cheeks puffy.

"No way, and who the fucking hell are you?! What WE do isn't any of YOUR business!" He was adamiant about it, and his two buddies stepped up beside him.

"Look, I'm not usually THIS nice to people, so you better fucking DO AS I SAY because what you're doing NOW really isn't helping YOURSELF at all." I raised my voice a little, and my mouth twitched in annoyance.

"Or what?" He folded his arms and stared at me with a smug smile and a mocking voice. I trembled with anger.

"You really don't wanna know..." My voice seethed with pure anger. "I will never let the weak get bullied by the kinds of cowards like YOU." I pointed an accusing finger at him. He tried to grab, note: tried, my wrist.

Sad for him I was way too fast for him and already anticipated his move. When he grabbed my wrist I twisted it faster than in a flash and grabbed HIS oen wrist, twisted it and knocked the book that was still in my hands over his head. He sccreamed in pain-the book was a hardcover-and grasped his forehead with his free hand. I took the chance to force down both of his hands and kneeled on his knuckles, and used my free hands to take the ribbon that fell from his behind. Through his groaning, I looked at his two friends with an expression that obviously said: want some? I don't mind(: They both smiled nervously at me and stuttered.

"Then help her pack! And APOLOGIZE for being such bastards!" I screamed at them both, to which they hastily did. I grinned to myself. Ahhas, that should fix them up nice and well.

After they helped her keep her books and return her tray and mumbled a quick word of apology, I got off their leader and let them go, laughing at the way they stumbled off, cursing me as loud as possible.

"Are you okay?" I got back to the girl as she was tying up her hair into a ponytail. Amazing how it looked so long when it was let down when it didn't even fall past her shoulders when it was tied up.

"Ah, ah? Gomen-nasai for causing you all the trouble, I'm fine... Thank you thank you thank you." She blushed pink and looked back down. I smiled down at her.

"Don't let those blasted louse get to you, alright? It's just not worth it for yourself because bullies like these are really just cowards that don't dare to pick on people larger or bigger than themselves. Just ignore them next time, alright?" I flicked a finger in their direction, and she looked up and smiled at me. I noticed that her eyes were a beautiful blue-green that reflected the sea, her bridge nose small and delicate, her cherry lips pink and full with a distinct sharp chin. I smiled at the little delicate fairy before me, looking ever so fragile and gentle. How could people ever think of hurting someone like her? I propped my arm over her back and one under her arm, but not before slinging her bag over one of my shoulder. I saw her face turn as red as a beetroot.

"Which is your class?" I asked. "I'll send you back."

"I'm in your class!" She retorted indignantly.

"HAH?"

"And I sit right behind you!"

And to think I was so dense as to not notice. Now it was my turn to turn red.

"Ahhas... Gomen gomen, I just transferred, so perhaps I'm not too familiar with the class yet..." I angled my cap to a different direction, smiling nervously. She just giggled.

"That's alright. I'm Ryou Karin(last, first), let's remember that, shall we?" She beamed, showcasing two rows of perfectly straight pearly whites, and eyes no more than two slits on a porcelain face.

"Ahhas...I see no need for a self-intro then." I laughed.
